Fortran added conditional ternary expressions to the language a few days back. Yes, the language developed in the 1950s. It’s still seeing stable releases every few years, and will continue to into the future. However, Fortan 2018 is far different from the language described in the 1956 “Fortran Programmer’s Reference Manual”.
